A divisive and misleading smear campaign is not how we do things in Long Beach.
We know this, and so do you. Our opponent obviously does not.
The Long Beach Community has known Megan and her family for many years and is proud to support her for School Board. Her work with and vision for the School District are the reasons so many are proudly behind her.
We look forward to a spirited campaign based on facts. Our kids deserve it.
Through the rest of the campaign, you can always visit this page for the truth.

There are two interesting articles in today’s Press-Telegram and in the Long Beach Register about the tone our race for school board has taken. This shift began last week when my opponent began a misleading personal attack against me and my family, for which he has since apologized. His apology apparently did not stop him from trying to find a new line of personal attacks in his campaign.
I have always stated my education background clearly and consistently on my website, when I have introduced myself at campaign events, and on all printed materials issued by my campaign. This information has been crystal clear: I attended Long Beach City College and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in sociology.
As the articles mention, apparently a member of my campaign team mistakenly stated I received a masters degree from Cal State Long Beach. I was not aware of this error. I have never been enrolled as a student of any kind at Cal State Long Beach and before this error have never represented (in person or in print) that I received a masters degree from Long Beach State, or from anywhere else. This was a simple error on the part of my team and I regret not catching it sooner
To clarify further, I completed graduate coursework at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, but have yet to complete my thesis work. I have placed a high value on personal integrity in this campaign and want to make sure all of this information is clear and apologize for any confusion on the part of my team. I thank the Press Telegram and the Long Beach Register for making it clear to the community I have never attempted to intentionally misrepresent my background.
“I have stayed neutral in the School Board race because of my respect for Uduak “Joey” Ntuk’s family. For years I worked with his grandfather in the Knights of Columbus and at St. Athanasius Church. But, in light of the misleading smear campaign against Megan Kerr and her family I must give my support to the honest and ethical candidate, Megan Kerr. I have always supported a political atmosphere of integrity in this community. I do not believe that her opponent has shown integrity. I only support candidates who will represent my City with honesty and integrity. Megan will.”

SHAMEFUL SMEAR CAMPAIGN BY
UDUAK-JOE “JOEY” NTUK
IN SCHOOL BOARD CAMPAIGN
Lie: “She’s taking money from her family business, Crew Incorporated, to bank roll her school board campaign.”
Truth: Neither Megan, nor her husband Andy, own any business—now or ever. They do not have any ownership interest in Andy’s employer, Crew Inc.
Lie: “Campaign finance records show that Megan Kerr just took more than $10,000 from them (Crew Inc.).”
Truth: The amount of money Megan’s campaign has received from Crew Inc.? Zero.
Campaign finance records show Megan and Andy have loaned her campaign money from their personal retirement savings. Mr. Ntuk has loaned his campaign a similar amount of money. Who is his employer, or in his own terms, who does he “take” money from? The City of Long Beach.
Lie: “Crew Inc. has millions of dollars in school construction bond contracts with Long Beach Unified School District.”
Truth: The amount of contracts Andy’s employer has with LBUSD? Zero. Crew Inc. (Andy’s employer) is a sub-contractor. Andy’s employer is not under any contract with the district, nor was there any decision to hire that company by LBUSD.
